Terrible Week

I had a terrible week. A lot of things happened, and I just needed to vent in this blog post.

Where I live, the city wasn’t built for the rain. Most of the time, it’s just sun, but when the rainy season comes, it feels like everything falls apart. The city isn’t prepared for that much water. The streets flood, invisible potholes appear, hidden under the water, and traffic completely shuts down. Everything around you gets soaked, and accidents increase dramatically. Because of all this, it’s such a pain to go anywhere, which doesn’t help the mood at all.

Secondly, the other day I had to take my dog to the vet because he had an ear infection. Since I didn’t have an appointment, I ended up waiting for four hours in the waiting room. Alright, that’s part of it. But while I was there, I got a call from my dad asking if I had asked my mom for money. What? I said no. He then told me that my mom had received a message from someone pretending to be me. The person used one of my photos and asked for a ridiculous amount of money. I was scared and started imagining what this person might do, but after thinking it through, I realized it was just a silly scam — you know, the type where they claim you have a Nigerian cousin who's a prince and needs five thousand dollars. Still, it was pretty unsettling.

And to top it all off: yesterday, we ran out of water at home because the rain damaged a pipe on the street. The company came to fix it, and that was fine. The problem was when the water came back with so much pressure that it broke the float valve mechanism in the water tank. The result? A huge leak. The attic flooded, and the water started dripping through the ceiling of my room — literally through the light fixture. My dad and I had to rush upstairs to try to stop it. It felt like we were on a sinking pirate ship. Fortunately, there was no major damage.

It was kind of a bad week. But writing this made me realize it could have been far worse. It was stressful, but it could have been so much worse. And in the end, I’m just happy I made it through. There will definitely be other weeks like this, but I have to keep going.

Thanks for reading, and

Bye
